Outer packaging for transport of classified UN3373 Biological substances, Category B 

The ShuttleBox™ rigid UN3373 transport box complies with all requirements for Category B Biological Substance transportation when sending vials, tubes and vacutainers.

The UN3373 transport box has been enhanced with extra strength and security features to ensure safe transportation of diagnostic samples and are compliant with Packing Instruction P650 (IATA & ADR). For safe transport of UN3373 Biological Substances Category B, a rigid outer packaging is required. Additionally all UN3373 Category B, diagnostic samples must be transported in packaging that complies with Packing Instruction 650.

When sending diagnostic samples for testing & investigation, the packaging must consist of three components:

(a) a primary receptacle(s)

(b) a secondary packaging

(c) a rigid outer packaging

The outer packaging must be of rigid construction.

Strong enough to withstand normal handling encountered during transportation without losing content under normal conditions by vibration, temperature change, humidity or pressure.

Mailing UN3373 Category B, one surface of the outer packaging must have a minimum dimension of 100mm x 100mm (4″ x 4″).
